OUTREACH SERVICE
The Outreach Service is a free confidential service providing support for women who live in the Newark & Sherwood area, who have experienced or are living with domestic abuse from a current or former partner, and who wish to remain in their own home.
The aim of the service is to enable women to discuss issues relating to their experiences freely without judgement and support them in whatever decisions they make, and to access agencies which will enable them to live as safely as possible in their own home, and remain within their own community.
The Outreach Service offers emotional support, information and advocacy on issues including; relationship breakdown, safety planning, housing options, benefits, legal issues, budgeting, tenancy sustainment, education, training, employment and access to other agencies. The Outreach Worker will also support women through court proceedings.
Support is offered on a one to one basis. A home visit will be arranged if it is a safe option, if not an alternative venue will be agreed. Telephone support is also available.
Women can self-refer or be referred by an Agency. An Agency must have the women’s consent to make the referral to the Outreach Service.
